Gary Ota, a 19-year-old art student at the University of Hawaii, was last seen on March 3, 1979, sitting in his blue two-door 1976 Honda Accord outside his home in Honolulu. Ota, who also worked part-time at the Outrigger Hotel in Waikiki, had no known personal problems at the time of his disappearance. There were two possible sightings of him after this, with the last occurring on March 12, 1979. However, he has not been heard from since, and his vehicle has never been recovered.
