In the early hours of a July day in Honolulu, Hawaii, a 28-year-old nightclub promoter named Carlos Vicente Carrillo vanished. Known to his friends as 'Carlitos,' he had moved to Hawaii from San Diego, California, just seven months prior in December 1999 and was living with his girlfriend on the North Shore.
