Dirk Schakenberg, a 24-year-old man, went missing on March 6, 1983, in San Francisco, California. He was last seen at Land's End, a scenic area overlooking the Pacific Ocean. According to his friends, Dirk fell into the ocean while at the site, and despite their attempts to save him, they were unsuccessful. His body was never recovered, and he remains classified as a missing person, presumed lost or injured.
At the time of his disappearance, Dirk was described as 6'2", weighing 165 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was wearing a light blue shirt, a blue jean jacket, blue jeans, rust-colored cowboy boots, and several pieces of jewelry, including a gold hoop earring, a gold necklace, and a ring with the initial "D." Dirk also had a scar on his abdomen and another on the sole of one of his feet.
Though presumed to have fallen into the ocean, Dirk's case remains open with authorities continuing to search for answers.
