Carrol "Chip" Fischer, a 30-year-old man, was last seen in New Orleans, Louisiana, on June 12, 2018. On that day, at approximately 12:30 p.m., he was at his residence on Esplanade Avenue. He had a phone conversation with a woman, informing her that he was leaving an electronics store and was on his way to a Walmart. About an hour later, at 1:30 p.m., he sent a text message to the same woman, confirming he was at the Walmart located on Veterans Boulevard in Metairie. After this communication, no one heard from or saw Chip again. He was reported missing five days later, on June 17, 2018. At the time he went missing, Chip was driving a gray 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara that belonged to one of his roommates. The vehicle had a Louisiana license plate with the number 838ATE. This vehicle was later seen on a traffic camera on Read Boulevard. Sometime after his disappearance, the Suzuki Grand Vitara was discovered abandoned and burned in New Orleans East. The discovery of the burned vehicle did not provide any clues as to Chip's whereabouts. Carrol Fischer, known as Chip to his friends and family, was described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. At the time he vanished, he was between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed around 170 pounds. He also had a mustache and a full beard. The New Orleans Police Department is the investigating agency for this case, which remains unsolved. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance and the subsequent discovery of his roommate's burned vehicle have left his loved ones with many unanswered questions. The case is a troubling local mystery, marked by the sudden silence from a man who was in regular contact and the ominous discovery of the torched vehicle he was last known to be driving.
