In the early summer of 2006, the family of 22-year-old Brandon Wise was anxiously awaiting his return. A native of New Orleans, Brandon had evacuated to Texas during Hurricane Katrina but had come back to his home city. His family last had contact with him while he was incarcerated at the Orleans Parish Prison on misdemeanor charges of disturbing the peace and criminal trespassing. On June 1, 2006, his brother went to the jail to bail him out, only to be told that Brandon had already been released at 7:00 p.m. that evening, as the charges had been dropped. From that moment on, all communication from Brandon ceased, and a profound and troubling silence began. He has not been seen or heard from since that day. The circumstances following his release from jail are shrouded in uncertainty, leaving his loved ones with few answers. It is believed that Brandon may have been driving a black Pontiac Grand Prix, which was an Enterprise rental car bearing Texas license plates. There is speculation that he might have intended to travel to the Houston, Texas area, a place he had ties to after his evacuation. However, there is no concrete evidence to confirm if he ever reached Houston or what his plans were after leaving the detention center. The lack of available details in his case has made the search for him exceptionally difficult for both his family and the New Orleans Police Department, who are handling the investigation. Brandon is described as a Black male with black hair and brown eyes, standing at 6'1" and weighing around 130 to 140 pounds at the time of his disappearance. He has several distinct physical features that his family hopes will help in identifying him. Both of his ears are pierced, and he has gold crowns on both of his upper lateral incisors. Additionally, he has several tattoos, including a wolf's head on his right shoulder, a dagger and a cloud on his left leg, and the name "Brandon" surrounded by flames, possibly on his left arm. He has also had a previous jaw fracture. The case of Brandon Wise remains an open and painful chapter for his family, a story without a conclusion, fueled by the hope that someone, somewhere, has information that could bring an end to their years of uncertainty.
