Keion Jamir Dade, a 24-year-old from Moreno Valley, California, went missing on June 10, 2021, while aboard the Catalina Express ferry en route to Catalina Island. According to witnesses, Keion fell overboard approximately three miles off the coast of Long Beach around 5:45 p.m. A crew member attempted to help by throwing a life ring, but Keion was lost in the water.
Despite a large search operation involving helicopters, boats, and multiple agencies covering over 600 square miles, no trace of Keion was found.
Keion was a promising young man who had recently secured financing for a trucking business he planned to start with his brother. His family, devastated by the sudden loss, continued searching for him even after authorities called off the official search. They remain hopeful for closure and have organized their own search efforts, asking for assistance from local divers and boaters.
