Evan Goin, a 44-year-old veteran from Hamlet, Oregon, was last seen on December 13, 2021, when the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check at his home. Goin, who had served in the military with four overseas tours, was reported missing after failing to contact family or show up for work. He was believed to be in a mental health crisis, and witnesses reported that he had been shooting at unknown items on his property shortly before he disappeared.
