On a summer day in Oregon, a 52-year-old man named Barry Michael Sundberg embarked on what should have been an enjoyable fishing excursion. On June 14, 2003, he was aboard the charter fishing boat, the Taki Tooo, in the waters of Tillamook Bay. At the time of his disappearance, he was a resident of Cheney, Washington. Known to his friends as "Bones," Sundberg was a white male with blond hair and blue eyes, standing at 5'9" and weighing around 160 pounds. The day, however, took a tragic and unforeseen turn, leading to his disappearance. The charter vessel, the Taki Tooo, suddenly capsized in the bay, plunging its occupants into the water. The chaotic event resulted in a significant loss of life, with nine individuals sadly drowning. In a testament to their resilience, eight other people on the boat, aided by life jackets, managed to survive by swimming several hundred yards to the safety of the shore. Unfortunately, two men, Barry Michael Sundberg and another individual named Timothy Albus, vanished in the aftermath of the capsizing. An extensive search was launched in the hopes of finding the two missing men. Days after the incident, searchers discovered a sweatshirt belonging to Timothy Albus on the rocks of the Tillamook Bay jetty, but no trace of the men themselves was ever found. Due to the circumstances of the boating accident and the failure to locate their bodies, both Barry Michael Sundberg and Timothy Albus are presumed to have died in the incident. The case is classified as a "Lost/Injured Missing" case, a somber reminder of a recreational outing that ended in tragedy. The overview of the case is that a charter boat accident led to multiple fatalities and the disappearance of two individuals, whose remains have never been recovered.
