John Groves was reported missing on July 8, 1981 from North West River, Newfoundland & Labrador. The Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP were notified of an unoccupied aluminum boat with an outboard motor going in circles in Sheshatshiu, Labrador. The investigation determined that the boat had been occupied by John Groves and it appears that he had fallen overboard and drowning was suspected. John's body has not yet been located.
