On July 18, 1981, Jerry Torarak was last seen at 11:15 p.m. near Hopedale, Newfoundland & Labardor. Jerry had been travelling back to Hopedale from Railroads, Newfoundland & Labrador via boat with his family. Approximately 23 kilometers off shore from Hopedale, Jerry fell over board into the water and sank out of sight.
