Rachelle Fischer, a 16-year-old girl, and her 13-year-old brother, Allen Fischer, were last seen in Monteview, Idaho, on the evening of June 22, 2025. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office determined that the siblings went missing between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. At the time of her disappearance, Rachelle was described as being 5'5" tall, weighing 135 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair, and she was last seen wearing a green dress.
An Amber Alert was issued for both Rachelle and Allen on June 24, 2025.
The children's mother, Elizabeth Roundy, reported them missing after returning home from a bible class. Roundy is a former member of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints having left the community five years prior with her children after a lengthy custody battle with her ex-husband, Nephi Fischer. Authorities and Roundy believe the disappearance is connected to the FLDS church and that the children may have been taken to an FLDS community in Trenton or Mendon, Utah, where they had previously lived. It is suspected that the children's older sister, 18-year-old Elintra Fischer, who was previously reported missing herself, may be involved in their disappearance.
The belief that the children were taken by members of the FLDS is rooted in the mother's history with the church and recent suspicious activities she had observed. Roundy stated that individuals had been watching her home and that the children's birth certificates and other personal items were stolen in a break-in a couple of months before they went missing. The initial investigation considered the possibility of the children traveling in a grey Hyundai with Utah license plates, but authorities later stated they could not find concrete evidence of a vehicle involved. A multi-state ground search for the children was conducted by The Uvalde Foundation for Kids across Idaho, Utah, Colorado, and Arizona, but was called off after new information suggested the teens were no longer being transported and were likely being hidden by FLDS members.
