Patricia Lee Otto, a 24-year-old mother of two, disappeared from Lewiston, Idaho, on September 2, 1976, following an argument with her husband, Ralph Otto. Patricia, known as "Patty," was last seen leaving her home after the dispute and never returned. She left behind her belongings, including her car and wedding rings, which were later found in Ralph's coat pocket. Her sudden disappearance, coupled with the discovery of the rings, raised suspicions of foul play.
Patricia had previously filed for divorce but reconciled with Ralph shortly before her disappearance. Their relationship was troubled, with Ralph reportedly accusing her of infidelity. On the night she went missing, one of their young daughters witnessed Ralph physically assaulting Patricia. Despite these troubling details, Patricia was never seen again.
Ralph Otto became the prime suspect in the case. Less than a year after Patricia's disappearance, Ralph was arrested for attempting to hire a hitman to kill the lead investigator on her case. Though he was convicted, the ruling was overturned in 1981 on a technicality, and Ralph later died while in custody on unrelated charges. Patricia's daughters were left searching for answers, with one of them, Suzanne, continuing efforts to uncover the truth. Foul play is strongly suspected, but Patricia’s body has never been found, and her case remains unsolved to this day.
