On June 3, 1985, 13-year-old Lloyd Michael Reese and his older friend, 21-year-old David Jaramillo, vanished from Salt Lake City, Utah. The two had left Reese's home in the 100 block of east 1700 South with a pair of other friends for a day of boating at East Canyon Reservoir. During the outing, Reese and Jaramillo became separated from their companions. They have not been seen or heard from since.
The last known sighting of the pair was at East Canyon Dam, driving away in a brown Datsun B210. Despite the passage of time, their case remains unsolved, leaving their families without answers. Law enforcement officials have stated that there is little evidence in the disappearance of Reese and Jaramillo, and they have been unable to determine if the two were victims of an accident or foul play. The two friends they were with on the day of their disappearance are not considered suspects.
At the time of his disappearance, Lloyd Reese was a popular teenager in his neighborhood and had a diverse group of friends. He had a passion for music, enjoying artists like Ted Nugent and bands such as Aerosmith and AC/DC. Just before he went missing, Lloyd had graduated from Glendale Middle School and held aspirations of one day becoming a doctor. He was described as having extremely bright white teeth with braces on both the top and bottom, bright green eyes, a mole on his right cheek, and a scar on his upper right arm. Both the Reese and Jaramillo families still resided in the Salt Lake City area as of April 2019.
