In the late summer of 1996, a family's life was irrevocably changed by a simple phone call and a departure from which there has been no return. Ronald Kemble McKeever, known to his loved ones as Ronnie, was at his sister's home on Saddlefield Road in Columbia, South Carolina, on September 24th of that year. At 39 years old, Ronald was a man with a life and connections, a brother and a familiar face in his community. That day, after receiving a telephone call, he walked out of the house on foot.
