In the spring of 1982, a family's life was irrevocably altered by a sudden and baffling disappearance. On April 8th of that year, 51-year-old Oliver Leo Green was at his home with his wife in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He mentioned that he had forgotten something at his office, Torque Master, and left to retrieve it. This seemingly ordinary errand would be the last time his wife ever saw him. Mr. Green, a man of routine and precaution, was never heard from again. His company truck was later discovered in the parking lot of his workplace, located near Wilshire Boulevard and North Rockwell Avenue. Ominously, the truck was unlocked, a detail that was highly uncharacteristic of him as he was known to be diligent about locking it to protect his tools. The days that followed his disappearance plunged his family into a state of deep distress and confusion. It was completely out of character for Oliver to be out of contact with his family and business associates. A sinister turn of events occurred three days after he went missing when an anonymous phone call was made to his family. The caller demanded a ransom of $300,000 for his safe return. However, this single demand for ransom was the only communication of its kind; no further contact was ever made, and the money was never exchanged. The trail, as quickly as it appeared, went cold, leaving his loved ones with nothing but questions and the pain of his absence. At the time of his disappearance, Oliver Leo Green was described as being 5'8" tall and weighing 160 pounds, with blue eyes and greying brown hair cut in a crewcut. He had a scar on his left bicep and another on his left wrist, as well as a tattoo of the initials "L.G." on his right upper arm. He was last seen wearing a grey Stetson hat, gold-rimmed glasses, a yellow and brown plaid western-style shirt or a heavy blue shirt, blue jeans, and brown cowboy boots. He also wore a belt buckle with the initials "T.M." on it. The investigation into Oliver Leo Green's disappearance has remained open for decades, a poignant and unresolved case. The initial hope for a resolution that came with the ransom call dissolved into a long and painful silence, leaving a family to grapple with the ambiguity of their loss and the enduring mystery of what happened to him after he left his home on that April day.
