On March 23, 2023, 54-year-old Lynne Diane Siewert was last seen at the Seiad Valley Post Office in Seiad Valley, California. She is described as a white female, standing between 5 feet 3 inches and 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighing between 135 and 145 pounds. Lynne has blonde hair and blue eyes, and may use the last name Smethurst.
In late April 2023, the black truck Lynne was known to be driving was found abandoned and stuck on a Forest Service Road.
This discovery prompted searches of the vehicle and surrounding area, but no significant leads were uncovered.
Frustrated by the lack of progress, Lynne's family initiated their own search efforts. They traveled to the site of her disappearance, conducted interviews, and collected potential evidence, including items found near her abandoned truck. These findings were turned over to the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office.
