On December 4, 2024, Aamari Daeshawn Eubanks, a 28-year-old male, disappeared from Haw River, North Carolina. He was last seen at approximately 2:05 p.m. leaving a residence on Wilkins Road. Aamari, also known as Shawn to his loved ones, was driving his grandmother's silver 2000 Toyota Avalon with the simple task of picking up her mail just a few miles down the road. He was wearing a black jacket with a bleach stain, black jogging pants, and black and white Adidas shoes.
Aamari is described as a Black male, 5'7' tall, weighing around 190 pounds, with a tattoo of the word 'Loyalty' on the inside of his forearm.
The day after he was last seen, the vehicle Aamari had been driving was discovered abandoned in a heavily wooded area near Sharpe Road in Burlington, approximately six miles from where he was last seen. The discovery was made after a resident in the area reported the car to the Burlington Police Department. Upon inspection, investigators found evidence that suggested a violent altercation had occurred inside the vehicle. The driver's side window was broken, and a significant amount of blood was found within the car, leading authorities to believe that Aamari was injured and in danger. His mother, Alecia Eubanks, recounted the distressing call from a detective who informed her about the car and the grim evidence found inside, stating that whoever was in the car likely needed immediate medical attention.
The investigation into Aamari's disappearance is being handled by both the Haw River and Burlington Police Departments, as well as the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. Authorities have conducted searches in the area where the car was found and have been working to retrace his steps from when he was last seen. Aamari's family has expressed their deep concern and distress, with his mother describing the experience as 'a mother's worst nightmare.' She has made public pleas for any information that could help locate her son. A reward of $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to Aamari's whereabouts or identifies any person responsible for his disappearance.
