Sterling Thomas Porter, 36, was last seen on May 25, 1997, entering his home on Wafco Drive in Greensboro, North Carolina. He has not been heard from since, and his fiancée reported him missing the same day. Prior to his disappearance, Porter had been questioned by an agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) in connection with a 9-millimeter pistol he had purchased, which was later used in a drug-related shootout.
