In the small community of Reidsville, North Carolina, the Thanksgiving holiday of 1988 marked the beginning of a lasting and sorrowful mystery for the family of Stephen Victor Meeks. Stephen, a 32-year-old man, disappeared on November 24, 1988, leaving behind a life that was, by some accounts, in a state of turmoil.
