Michael Alexander Rudolph, age 49, went missing from Camarillo, California, on June 20, 2006. He was last seen leaving his home, and his neighbor reported his disappearance as highly unusual. Three days later, his maroon 2000 Ford Contour was found parked near Mugu Rock beach. Initially, authorities suspected a potential suicide or accidental drowning, but in late 2009, foul play was suspected, with hints that someone may have staged his disappearance.

Rudolph was involved in real estate deals in Costa Rica and planned to move there. The real estate connections are suspected to be linked to his disappearance, and police have identified a person of interest, although they haven't disclosed their identity. Despite these leads, Rudolph's case remains unsolved, and foul play is strongly suspected. His family described him as a friendly individual, enthusiastic about surfing and his upcoming move to Costa Rica.
