Michael Daniel Harp, aged 23, was last seen on March 23, 1977, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was spotted leaving a hospital on South Telshor Boulevard, where he was reportedly being treated for an unspecified medical condition. Shortly afterward, he was seen hitchhiking along Interstate 25 near the hospital. A truck driver later claimed to have picked up a hitchhiker matching Michael's description, dropping him off south of Albuquerque, but this sighting was never confirmed.

Michael had several distinctive physical characteristics. He was color-blind, legally blind with vision of 20/200, and had large pupils, which made his eyes appear darker. He also had scars on his abdomen and index finger. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a white shirt and dark brown pants. Despite extensive searches and investigations over the years, no further trace of him has been found, and his case remains unsolved.

The investigation into Michael's disappearance continues, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. His case is classified as endangered missing.
