John Sapienza, aged 62, was last seen on February 23, 1997, in Amsterdam, New York. At the time of his disappearance, he was in the midst of a divorce from his wife, Charlene, who had moved in with a friend on Guy Park Avenue. Shortly before he went missing, the couple had a heated argument during which John allegedly told Charlene she might never see him again.
