After having dinner with his sister at Fern Forest Apartments, Steve went out with a friend, during which he mentioned seeing a car he believed was being driven by the husband of a married woman with whom he had an affair. Steve had been involved in a tumultuous relationship with this woman, and her husband had previously threatened his life.
