Robert McElrath, a 37-year-old police officer from Susanville, California, was found dead on January 1, 2011. His body was discovered near a railroad trestle in the Devil's Corral area, approximately seven miles west of Susanville. The investigation revealed that McElrath had been drugged with prescription narcotics and then driven to the trestle, where he was shot with his own service weapon.
