In the autumn of 2025, the Tario family's life in Gastonia, North Carolina, was disrupted when 16-year-old Luis Tario went missing. On October 31, the teenager left his home, purportedly to visit friends, with an expected return time of 6:30 p.m. When his family returned from a church outing later that evening, Luis had not come home.
