Loy Gillespie Evitts, a 29-year-old legal secretary, disappeared on February 28, 1977, during her lunch break in Kansas City, Missouri. That afternoon, she ran several errands, including adjusting her watch and purchasing coffee and an umbrella at a local drugstore. Her yellow MG sports car was later found in its usual spot in the parking garage of the Plaza Center Building, with the recently purchased umbrella inside. However, there was no sign of Loy, and she has not been heard from since.
