Cheryl Ann Scherer, a 19-year-old from Scott City, Missouri, vanished on April 17, 1979, while working her shift at the Rhodes Pump-Ur-Own gas station. Cheryl had called her mother at around 11:20 a.m. to discuss plans for dinner and sewing that evening, a conversation where she seemed in good spirits.
