In the early morning hours of a late September day, a 33-year-old mother named Bedriye Sayrun vanished from the north side of Chicago, Illinois, leaving behind a life and two young children. She was last seen at approximately 5:30 a.m. at the Fireside Restaurant, located in the 5700 block of North Ravenswood Avenue. Accounts from that time indicate she had been drinking and dancing at the establishment before her disappearance. When she departed the bar, she was not alone; an unidentified Caucasian male accompanied her. Tragically, Bedriye Sayrun was never seen or heard from again. Her family grew deeply concerned, as it was highly uncharacteristic of her not to make contact. She was known to be someone who would always call to let her loved ones know her whereabouts or if she needed assistance. At the time of her disappearance, Bedriye was described as a biracial (Black and White) female with black hair, often worn in braids, and brown eyes. She stood at 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighed around 130 pounds. The last outfit she was known to be wearing consisted of a black blouse, silver pants, and black shoes. It is also known that Bedriye was managing both depression and bipolar disorder, for which she was taking medication. There were concerns that the medication could have adverse effects if mixed with alcohol. The years following Bedriye Sayrun's disappearance have yielded few answers, and her case has grown cold, leaving her family with unanswered questions. The Chicago Police Department has been the primary agency investigating her case, which is classified as an endangered missing person case. Despite the passage of time, there has been no significant progress reported in the investigation. It remains unclear if the man she was last seen with was ever identified or questioned. The lack of new leads has left her loved ones in a state of prolonged uncertainty. The overview of this case is one of a sudden and perplexing disappearance that has left a void in the lives of her family. Authorities continue to urge anyone with information to come forward in the hope of one day resolving the mystery of what happened to Bedriye Sayrun.
