Carina Lynn Karras, a 20-year-old woman with brown hair and brown eyes, was last seen on New Year's Eve, 2005. At the time of her disappearance, she was approximately 5 feet to 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighed around 107 pounds. She has distinctive heart-shaped scars on both of her ankles and another scar on her neck. On the day she went missing, Carina was seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. Known to her loved ones as "Carrie," her case has remained a painful mystery for years. The last known sighting of Carina was at a Metra train station in Grayslake, Illinois, where she was seen boarding a train. It is believed that Carina was on her way to start a new life in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she had plans to meet a friend and relocate. However, it remains unconfirmed if she ever reached her intended destination. After boarding the train, there have been no further confirmed sightings or any communication from her. The identity of the friend she was supposed to meet in Las Vegas has not been publicly released. The Chicago Police Department is handling the investigation into her disappearance. Over the years, her family has continued to search for answers. A family member has indicated that both the family and the police have pursued various leads and have reached out to several individuals who might have information, but these inquiries have unfortunately led to dead ends. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain unclear, and her case is considered cold. The investigation into what happened to Carina Karras after she boarded that train on New Year's Eve continues.
