In the winter of 1980, a six-year-old girl named Kelly Juanita Staples vanished while walking to school in her South Shore neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. The young girl, who stood at three feet tall and weighed 42 pounds, was a student at a nearby elementary school, just a few blocks from her home.
