Kelly Juanita Staples, a 6-year-old girl, disappeared on January 8, 1980, while walking to her elementary school in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood. The school was only three blocks from her home, but Kelly never arrived and has not been seen since. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a brown and white striped cap, a brown scarf, a red plaid coat, blue jeans, and blue rubber boots. She also had a distinctive birthmark on the left side of her chest.
