Tracy Lynn Davenport, a 6-year-old girl, was last seen on April 27, 1973, in San Rafael, California. Tracy lived with her grandmother and other relatives at the Bermuda Palms motel (now a Motel 6) on Francisco Boulevard East. That morning, she left home at around 11:00 a.m. to walk to her kindergarten class at Bahia Vista School, but she never arrived. Her family didn't realize something was wrong until later that evening when she didn’t return home. They reported her missing the following day.
A witness reported seeing a dark-colored car, possibly green or black, following Tracy as she walked to school. The car was described as being driven by an African American man with bushy hair and a pointed beard, and he may have been accompanied by other men. However, there was no evidence confirming whether Tracy was abducted, and the car and individuals have never been identified. Despite extensive searches by local police, no significant clues were found, and her case remains unsolved.
In 2009, authorities searched the crawl space near the motel based on longstanding rumors that Tracy's remains might have been buried there, but no evidence was discovered. Tracy's disappearance is still considered suspicious, and investigators continue to seek any new leads in the case.
