Laura Negrete Cerda, 35, was last seen on January 1, 2010, when she left her home in San Rafael, California, intending to visit friends in San Jose, about 65 miles away. Laura informed her husband that she would return the following day. She did not drive and typically used public transportation, planning to take a Greyhound bus. However, there is no record of her purchasing a ticket or boarding the bus.
