Valarie Lorraine Cuccia, a 20-year-old college student, went missing on May 4, 1974, in Brooklyn, New York. That evening, she and a friend hitchhiked from PS 211 Park to the Banana Fish nightclub (now defunct) located at 96th Street and 3rd Avenue. After arriving, the two friends separated inside the club. Later, Valarie’s friend saw her speaking with two unidentified white men described as "hard looking."
