Barbara Zakon, a 50-year-old Holocaust survivor, went missing on December 22, 1984, in Brooklyn, New York. She was last seen around 2:00 PM at the intersection of East 12th Street and Kings Highway, not far from her home on East 10th Street. Zakon, who spoke English, Polish, and Yiddish, had a history of mental health issues and was taking lithium at the time. She was also diabetic and required medication for her condition.
