Tina Faye Kemp was 14 years old when she was last seen in Felton, Delaware, on February 3, 1979. NCMEC’s current poster describes Tina as female and notes that she would now be 61 years old.
Tina lived with her family about one-half mile south of Felton, in a rural agricultural area of Kent County.
According to the case information, she reportedly walked away from her residence after helping her family hang laundry outside and was never seen again. The Charley Project reports that she was last seen at approximately 9:00 a.m. at her home on Main Street, and that her disappearance occurred the day before a severe snowstorm struck the area.
At the time she disappeared, Tina was described as a White female with dark brown hair and blue eyes, about 5 feet to 5 feet 1 inch tall, and approximately 100 pounds. She had freckles and a half-inch mole on her right triceps. She was reportedly wearing a white sweater, a red-and-white flannel shirt, new blue jeans, boys’ red-and-white sneakers, a gold band-style ring with white rhinestones, and a leather strap on her left arm bearing the name “Eric.”
Investigators and missing-persons organizations have noted that Tina had run away twice before, but the circumstances after February 3, 1979, were deeply troubling. Sources state that neither her family nor a local boyfriend with whom she was close ever heard from her again. The Charley Project also reports that Tina was known to frequent horse-racing tracks in Delaware and surrounding states. Foul play is suspected in her disappearance.
