Jamie Martin Thornton, just shy of his second birthday, was last seen on October 4, 1986, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. On the day of his disappearance, Jamie was playing with his five-year-old cousin near his family's home, which was located in the West End of Pittsburgh. The two were playing on a retaining wall roughly twelve feet above Chartier's Creek, which was swollen with rainwater, having risen about six feet higher than usual.
