Marinthia Ann McCoy, a 26-year-old resident of Jacksonville, Florida, was last seen on October 6, 1989, under suspicious circumstances. She had traveled to Daytona Beach with a male acquaintance on September 19, 1989, staying at the Marriott Hotel. During her stay, she participated in a local bar's bikini contest. After a night of partying, she hired a limousine to return to Jacksonville at around 3:30 a.m. on October 6.
According to the limousine driver, she was dropped off in Jacksonville, but no one in the city reported seeing her, and she was never heard from again.
At the time of her disappearance, Marinthia was twice divorced, had a 2-year-old son, and had recently started a bartending job. She was also described as having issues with alcohol. Despite numerous interviews with the limousine driver, who was later imprisoned for unrelated crimes, police were unable to determine whether he was involved in her disappearance, and no evidence has surfaced to confirm she ever returned to Jacksonville.
