On July 25, 1994, 22-year-old Laura Louise Williams was last seen at her home in the Connelly Trailer Park in Esopus, New York. A neighbor witnessed her willingly get into an older model white, four-door vehicle with two unknown white males at approximately 10 a.m. that morning. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a light-colored blouse, denim shorts, and sneakers, and was carrying a small, two-handled beige duffel-style bag. Laura, a mother of three, had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a condition for which she required medication and which caused her to have trouble walking. She has not been seen or heard from since. Laura's live-in boyfriend, and the father of her youngest child, reported her missing when he returned home from work to find she was gone. There were no signs of a struggle inside their home. The fact that she left behind her three children and her necessary medication was immediately alarming to her family and investigators. At the time she vanished, Laura was separated from her husband, who is the father of her two older children. Authorities have stated that foul play is suspected in her disappearance. The investigation into Laura's disappearance has spanned decades and has become a cold case. Over the years, detectives have re-interviewed numerous friends, family members, and potential witnesses in an effort to generate new leads. At one point, a man with a history of mental illness claimed involvement in both Laura's case and the 1986 disappearance of another woman, Cindy Rowles. While police considered his statements credible, a lack of evidence has prevented any charges from being filed in connection with either case. The Ulster County Sheriff's Office continues to keep the investigation open, holding out hope that new information will one day emerge to provide answers for Laura's family. The case serves as a painful reminder of a young mother who vanished without a trace, leaving a void in the lives of her loved ones.
