On October 28, 2008, a 36-year-old mother of three, Corrie Lynn Anderson, vanished from Jamestown, a town in Chautauqua County, New York. She was last seen at approximately 1:10 p.m. leaving the Lake County Dodge dealership on Washington Street. Corrie had visited her boyfriend there before she was expected to attend a 3:15 p.m. meeting at her son's school and then pick him up. When she failed to show up for either, her family knew something was terribly wrong, as this was highly out of character for the devoted mother. Evidence suggested that she may have returned to her home in Busti, New York, after leaving the dealership. At the time of her disappearance, she was described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds, with blonde hair and green eyes. She was reportedly wearing a black leather jacket and black corduroy pants. The investigation into Corrie's disappearance began promptly after her family reported her missing. Two days later, on October 30, 2008, her dark blue 2005 Dodge Caravan was discovered abandoned in a rural, wooded area off Kortwright Road, near a gas well. This location was about a half-mile walk or a two-mile drive from her residence. There were no immediate signs of a struggle at the scene. Items that were missing and have never been found include her purse, described as a black GH Bass & Company bag, and her keys. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance were immediately considered suspicious by law enforcement, and foul play is suspected. Corrie was in the midst of a divorce from her second husband, Kenneth Anderson, at the time she went missing. Their relationship was described as tumultuous, and Corrie had previously sought an order of protection against him after alleging he had placed a tracking device on her vehicle. He was arrested in 2007 for violating that order. Due to this history, he has been considered a person of interest in her case. Years later, in 2016, Kenneth Anderson was arrested in Kentucky on charges of kidnapping and rape involving his new wife. The investigation into Corrie Anderson's disappearance is ongoing, with state police periodically conducting new searches and utilizing advanced DNA technology on evidence collected from her home and vehicle. Despite the passage of time, her family remains hopeful for answers in the search for Corrie.
