Kelsi Jordan Krum, an infant, and her mother, Kelli Jo Krum, disappeared on August 11, 1994, from their home in Arcadia, Florida. Kelsi was only seven months old at the time. Kelli, 21 years old, had been in the process of moving to her parents' home in Sebring and had already dropped off several belongings at their house earlier that day. Kelsi and Kelli were last seen by a family member, James Dennis "Jimbo" Ford, who claimed Kelli had been on the phone and packing boxes when he left their home around midnight. Neither of them has been seen since that evening.
There were no immediate signs of a struggle at the residence, but several details raised concerns. Kelli's car remained in the driveway, though its orientation had changed. A diaper bag and bottles of formula were left behind, and Kelli's vehicle and some of her personal belongings, such as clothes, were untouched. However, her purse and car keys were missing. Despite an extensive investigation, no trace of Kelli or Kelsi was found, and their case remains unsolved. Foul play is strongly suspected due to the mysterious circumstances.
In the years following their disappearance, suspicion fell on Ford, the last person to see them alive. In 1997, Ford was arrested and later convicted of a separate double homicide, which led authorities to re-examine his possible involvement in Kelli and Kelsi's disappearance. Ford failed a polygraph test related to their case but has denied any involvement. Despite efforts, including a search of an orange grove based on a tip, no evidence was found to connect him to the Krums' disappearance. Ford is currently on death row for unrelated crimes, and the investigation into Kelsi and Kelli's fate remains open.
