Kelli Jo Krum, a 21-year-old mother, and her 8-month-old daughter, Kelsi, were last seen on August 11, 1994, at their home in Arcadia, Florida. At the time of their disappearance, Kelli was in the process of moving to her parents' home in Sebring and had plans to start a new job soon. The night they vanished, Kelli was seen packing and reportedly speaking on the phone. Her cousin, James Dennis "Jimbo" Ford, was the last known person to have seen her.
When authorities investigated the scene, they found no signs of struggle. Kelli’s car was in the driveway, but it had been moved since it was last seen by a family member. Her purse and car keys were missing, but no other significant items were taken, and bottles of baby formula were left prepared in the freezer. The circumstances of their disappearance suggest foul play, though no definitive leads have emerged.
Ford later failed a polygraph test related to the case. While he has not been charged in connection to Kelli and Kelsi's disappearance, he was convicted of two unrelated brutal murders in 1997 and remains on death row. Despite extensive searches, including efforts at an orange grove near Arcadia, no trace of Kelli or Kelsi has been found, and their case remains unsolved. Foul play is strongly suspected, but authorities have not closed the investigation, continuing to seek any new information that could provide answers.
