In the summer of 1979, a 21-year-old University of Cincinnati student named John Paul Koziatek vanished from his life in Cincinnati, Ohio, leaving behind a void of information and a case that would remain unsolved for decades. At the time of his disappearance, he was living with several other students in the vicinity of the 400 block of Dixmyth Avenue.
