Charles Lawrence Dillon, a 48-year-old man, went missing on January 16, 1994, while on a fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico. Dillon was aboard a 26-foot boat named the "Double O" along with three other men. The group was on a grouper fishing trip that departed from the Tarpon Springs area. Later, two of the boat's occupants were found drowned, along with some personal items, including a cooler and life jackets. Dillon and another fisherman, Arthur Sassone, were never located and are presumed to have died in a mishap at sea.
Dillon, who worked for the Yellow Cab company at the time of his disappearance, had a history of heart problems and had undergone triple bypass surgery. Despite extensive search efforts, neither Dillon's nor Sassone's bodies were ever recovered, and the exact circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear. Authorities believe the incident was a tragic accident at sea, but the case remains officially unresolved.
