On a Friday afternoon in March of 2009, 34-year-old Aaron Guy Lamson went surfing in the waters off of Moloaa, Hawaii. An experienced surfer and outdoorsman, Lamson was familiar with the local surf spots. On this particular day, the waves were reported to be a challenging 12 to 15 feet high at a location known as 'Crack 14' in Anahola.
