Richard Borrack, a 77-year-old man suffering from dementia and possibly Alzheimer's, went missing on July 26, 2010, from the Emeritus Assisted Living Facility in Jensen Beach, Florida. On the evening of his disappearance, Borrack walked away from the facility, where he had been living, and never returned. He had a history of wandering, often trying to visit his old home in Stuart, Florida. On this occasion, however, he never reached his destination. Before leaving the facility, Borrack removed a GPS tracking device that had been attached to his ankle for safety.
Despite extensive searches of the surrounding area, including community efforts and involvement from search organizations, no signs of Borrack were found. He had no access to a vehicle and did not purchase any transportation tickets, further complicating the search. His family described him as physically healthy at the time of his disappearance and noted that he had previously left the facility but had always been found.
Borrack's case remains unsolved, and authorities, along with his family, continue to hope for answers regarding his whereabouts.
