Kevin Bamper, a 46-year-old man from Stuart, Florida, went missing on July 15, 2014, while on a fishing trip with his 20-year-old son, James Bamper, near the north jetty at Sailfish Point. The pair was last seen fishing that evening, but by the next morning, their fishing gear was discovered abandoned. Kevin's wallet was found later that day near their fishing spot. An extensive search for the two men was launched immediately.
