Kevin Bamper, a 46-year-old man from Stuart, Florida, went missing on July 15, 2014, while on a fishing trip with his 20-year-old son, James Bamper, near the north jetty at Sailfish Point. The pair was last seen fishing that evening, but by the next morning, their fishing gear was discovered abandoned. Kevin's wallet was found later that day near their fishing spot. Tragically, James’s body was found six days later in mangroves along the Indian River Lagoon. The cause of his death could not be determined, though no signs of foul play were noted. Authorities believe that both men likely drowned in the dangerous waters where they had been fishing. The area is known for strong currents and slippery rocks, and neither Kevin nor James was considered strong swimmers. Kevin's truck was found parked nearby, but despite a thorough search, no trace of Kevin's body has been found, and he is presumed to have drowned and been swept out to sea.
