Joseph Bushling, a 26-year-old Army Specialist stationed at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah, was last seen on May 8, 2011. That evening, he called a friend and reported that he had run out of gas while driving a borrowed 2001 Mitsubishi Lancer in the desert near Granite Mountain. He mentioned he was cold, had lost his shoes, and was using his t-shirt to cover his feet. He was attempting to walk back to the Dugway base but was never heard from again.
