Robert Lugo, 29, went missing on September 1, 1986, after telling his mother that he was going on a backpacking trip in the Mountain Green area of Utah. He was expected to return home two days later but never did. A few days after his disappearance, a local resident discovered Lugo's motorcycle abandoned in the highlands above Mountain Green. Despite an extensive search involving helicopters, rescue dogs, and over 100 volunteers, no trace of him was ever found.
