At the time of his disappearance, Scott was reportedly involved in a case of arson, for which federal agents had allegedly approached him to wear a wire to implicate others involved. His mother speculated that this may have contributed to his disappearance. Another theory suggests that Scott might have been paid to disappear, as he had mentioned receiving an offer of $7,000 to leave town. Despite these theories, Scott's disappearance remains unsolved, and his family still seeks answers. His sister continues to hold out hope that one day they may learn the truth.
