Patricia Adele Calatrello, aged 44, went missing on February 12, 1979, while aboard a boat in the Catalina Channel, off the coast of Rancho Palos Verde, California. Patricia and her husband had departed from San Pedro on February 10, 1979, en route to Catalina Island. According to her husband, they became disoriented and spent both Saturday night and Sunday attempting to navigate back to land. In the early morning hours of February 12, her husband awoke to find Patricia missing from the boat.
The boat, found adrift in the Catalina Channel on February 13, 1979, was eventually located by a passing vessel. Patricia's husband was on board, but there was no trace of Patricia. A search of the area failed to locate her, and her case remains unsolved. Patricia was last seen wearing blue jeans, a brown sweater, and a red and white parka.
